Reflection

Janet and I met several times and discussed the project proposal for ISEA2015 via realtime communication. Inspired by the Pairings conference, our intentions were to visually document our ideas in matching journals. We had intended to use the journals to illustrate our ideas and periodically send to each other to respond to the thematic. However, the new opportunities that were presented to me during the period of the collaboration inhibited the development of practical exploration with Janet, mainly due to the geographical distance between us and my new role as artist in residence at St Asaph Cathedral.

The opportunity to attend and participate in ISEA2014 was an enriching period. It helped inform the working collaboration with Janet and I. There are strong connections between our practice ambitions. During this period however, we were unable to realise our intentions due to lack of funding opportunities that would have supported the time for us to embark on a period of exploration. We have discussed pursuing the funding route in future.
