Topsy Turvy Camera Obscura public art installation within the grounds of Madison Square Park Conservancy (2013) by Luis Recorder and Sandra Gibson.

Drawing upon camera obscura principles, the piece captures images from the grounds of the park through an aperture and projects the collected image on the interior wall. The public are able to enter and interact with the installation.

The interactivity of the piece is something that I would like to develop, to look at ways in which the public can engage with a large scale public art piece to question the permeable boundaries between interior and exterior thus altering or challenging the viewer's perception.

This is a reverse photograph of  the interior of a model built by Anonio Guadi for the Colonia Guell Chapel - it is called a FUNICULAR based on the tension of ropes suspended, weighted in equilimbium, to provide structure and surface modeling calculations.

This reminds me visually of Philip Beesley's protocell mesh works.

Also this piece Sonumbra by Loop.pH Rachel - Wingfield and Mathias Gmachl
